Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 30 January 2026

Effective Date: 30 January 2026

Spectator is a private live coaching layer for important conversations. It is designed for authorized support, coaching, interpretation, training, and assistance during calls where the Host is allowed to bring in a trusted coach or helper.

This Acceptable Use Policy explains how Spectator may and may not be used. By using Spectator, you agree to follow this policy and to use the product responsibly.

1. Core principle

Spectator is for authorized live coaching and support.

You may use Spectator only when you have the right to invite a coach, teammate, advisor, interpreter, manager, or helper into the conversation, and when any required notice, consent, workplace approval, contractual permission, or legal requirement has been handled.

Spectator must not be used for covert listening, unauthorized assistance, surveillance, harassment, deception, or any situation where outside assistance or third-party listening is prohibited.

2. Authorized use cases

Spectator may be used for legitimate and authorized purposes such as:

  • Sales coaching and live deal support
  • Customer support and customer success onboarding
  • Training, supervision, and role-based coaching
  • Founder, operator, or advisor support during business conversations
  • Live interpretation or bilingual assistance where permitted
  • Accessibility support and communication assistance
  • Internal team coaching during approved work calls
  • Other live support scenarios where the Host is allowed to invite assistance

These examples are not exhaustive. The key requirement is that the use must be authorized, lawful, and consistent with applicable policies and expectations.

3. Your responsibilities

When using Spectator, you are responsible for:

  • Confirming that you are allowed to bring a coach or helper into the conversation
  • Providing any notice or obtaining any consent required by law, contract, workplace policy, platform rules, or participant expectations
  • Using Spectator only with trusted people you have approved
  • Ending a session if circumstances change or if continued coaching is no longer appropriate
  • Making sure your audio setup does not leak private coaching audio into the external call
  • Following all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction

Spectator provides a technical tool. You are responsible for deciding whether a specific use is appropriate and permitted.

4. Prohibited uses

You may not use Spectator to:

  • Cheat, assist cheating, or receive unauthorized help in exams, assessments, tests, certifications, or interviews
  • Receive outside assistance in any setting where such assistance is prohibited
  • Listen to, monitor, or involve a third party in a confidential conversation without authorization
  • Secretly surveil, stalk, harass, intimidate, or manipulate another person
  • Impersonate someone or help another person misrepresent their identity, qualifications, or independent performance
  • Capture, transmit, or share call audio where you do not have the right to do so
  • Violate employment policies, school policies, interview rules, platform rules, contracts, NDAs, or legal duties
  • Use Spectator in legal, medical, financial, educational, hiring, or other sensitive settings without the required permissions and safeguards
  • Use Spectator to support fraud, scams, social engineering, phishing, extortion, or other harmful activity
  • Use Spectator to violate privacy, publicity, intellectual property, or confidentiality rights
  • Attempt to bypass, disable, or undermine Spectator’s Host awareness, session control, or safety features
  • Use Spectator with minors in a way that violates applicable law, school policy, parental consent requirements, or platform rules
  • Use Spectator in any way that is unlawful, deceptive, harmful, or abusive

5. No covert use

Spectator is not a stealth, surveillance, or cheating product.

You may not use Spectator to hide third-party listening or assistance where disclosure, consent, or authorization is required. You may not present Spectator as a tool for secret monitoring, hidden coaching, undetectable assistance, or unauthorized support.

Any attempt to use Spectator for covert, deceptive, or unauthorized purposes is a violation of this policy.

6. Host control and awareness

Spectator is designed around Host control.

The Host controls availability, chooses trusted Spectators, receives awareness when a coach joins, and can end a session at any time. You may not attempt to remove, bypass, suppress, or misrepresent these controls.

If you are a coach, teammate, advisor, interpreter, manager, or helper using Spectator, you must respect the Host’s control over the session and leave when asked.

7. No recording or redistribution

Spectator is designed for live support, not call recording or transcription.

You may not use Spectator to record, redistribute, publish, stream, or share call content unless you have all rights, notices, consents, and permissions required to do so.

You may not use third-party recording or transcription tools with Spectator in a way that violates law, policy, agreement, or participant expectations.

8. Organizations and team use

If you use Spectator on behalf of a company, team, school, agency, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to use Spectator in that context and that your use complies with your organization’s rules.

Organizations are responsible for setting internal policies for when Spectator may be used, who may act as a coach, and what notice or consent is required.

9. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations of this policy and may take action, including:

  • Warning a user
  • Suspending or terminating access
  • Removing or disabling accounts or workspaces
  • Refusing service
  • Cooperating with lawful requests from authorities
  • Taking other steps we believe are necessary to protect users, the public, Spectator, or third parties

We may act immediately if we believe a use of Spectator creates legal, safety, privacy, security, or reputational risk.
